The Sunshine State offers the best subtropical fishing experiences available. Several options are available based on your preferred method of fishing. The well-known Sailfish Alley runs up north from Fort Pierce through Miami to the Keys. Sailfish are abundant and provide great opportunities for catch-and-release fishing. Florida is usually a wonderful choice if you want to experience some of the best fishing in December while staying somewhere cozy and warm.

South Carolina:

South Carolina is the perfect place for plenty of freshwater winter fishing because it has a wide variety of lakes with abundant wildlife in addition to coastal waters. There are an abundance of flathead, channel, and blue catfish species. When the weather turns colder in the winter, blue catfish are particularly abundant. Shad is an excellent bait during this time of year, as December is the best month to find catfish feeding on it. This clearly shows that if you are after catfish, South Carolina is a must-go state to enjoy.

Georgia:

Georgia's lakes are some of the greatest places to visit. There have been reports of bass inhabiting the waters in this state. Catfish are available in prime waters like Lake Hartwell, Clark, Hill Lake Lanier on the Chattahoochee River, and the Coosa River system, in addition to bass and other species. The Savannah River provides saltwater fishing for anglers because of its pleasant weather and low tides.

Texas offers some of the best winter fishing in the South, with Rio Grande fishing providing the ultimate winter fishing experience. Going south is the greatest option if you want the most fulfilling fishing experience. Winter bass fishing is best in Zapata's Falcon Reservoir on the Rio Grande.
