The specific tips and techniques might be helpful to increase your catch, and these are,

  • Sea fishing rigs for cod are specific and depend upon the type of the grounds. Clipped-down rigs are best for sandy beaches. Pennel pulley is a good choice for rocky beds.

  • You must be selective while choosing the baits. Peeler crabs are the best bait for the cod fish. Your food selection will increase your fish catch number as shellfish or mussels are best on rocky ground, and the gully is the perfect choice for the sandy beaches.

A whole single squid is the favorite choice of the anglers targeting the giant cod.

  • The Anglers set their gear setup according to hook size and baits. The hook size is generally 3/0 – 6/0. This size is perfect for targeting big cod and also has the advantage that this size is also a bait robbing menace. The smaller hooks are being used to catch the smaller minor codes using the flatfish.
